Trinity Velo Club “Non-stop” Henley to Paris Ride (IanRinger)
The Ride
Participants will ride a gruelling 325km "non-stop" from Henley to Paris. Of course there will a late ferry ride across the channel from Newhaven, providing for an opportunity for a few hours rest off the bikes in the small hours, before arriving around 430am in Dieppe to tackle the remaining 180km or so to Paris, the Eiffel Tower then down the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe.
The Charities
In 2017 our Ride to Paris raised over £40,000. This funding proved critical to maintaining The Chiltern Centre and also funded a new 'Discovery Hub' science and technology classroom at Trinity Primary School - the sort of infrastructure project that would have been impossible to contemplate with the government's increasingly meagre funding provision to the country's schools. https://www.henleyherald.com/2018/05/23/trinity-opens-new-discovery-hub-thanks-to-fundraising-cyclists/
For 2024 we have extended our participants fundraising to also provide for Gillots Secondary School: another excellent local school which also has a huge funding challenge to provide or simply maintain all of the educational equipment and infrastructure it needs to deliver a great education for all abilities.
