The inspiration for this came from seeing a 'Run Tiree' t-shirt at the 2023 Dunblane Road Race. So I had a look online and found the Tiree Ultra! 35 miles around the 'land below the waves.' 🌅
I've never run so far in one go and I'm unlikely to do it again! 🤗 So I start this phase of my training on Sunday 26 May with the small matter of the Edinburgh Marathon! 😬
As part of the challenge I am fundraising for four charities, all close to my heart ❤️ and those of family and friends; Macmillan Cancer Support, Strathcarron Hospice, Samaritans and Alzheimer Scotland. If you can spare any cash, please think about donating, no matter how small.

Perseverance... and purple heather...
Running stuff on the floor by yer bed 🎽. Watch charged and alarm set for 6 bells 🥱. Trainers by the front door 👟. Somehow, just get up and go... (and empty the tank too 💩😬). Get up, and go... 💪

Have to admit I've struggled a bit in the last few weeks. I got a left calf strain (hurt when I moved 😜)... but seriously... first proper injury since back running, right when I'm increasing miles again... but I'm ready and focused and fit to get through the next few weeks. As I type it's Thursday 8 August. 4 weeks on Sunday, run roon Tiree! Let's do this!
