STARs raising money for charity ⭐
This year's STARs have divided into two teams, each supporting a local charity with the aim to make a significant impact. The charities we are raising money for:
Be The Change Youth Project works within Bolton to provide young people with a safe environment where they can grow, learn, and engage in meaningful activities. They offer a wide range of programmes from sports to arts, and crucial life guidance through their knife crime prevention and mentoring efforts. We're on a mission to raise the necessary funds to help them move into a new building, securing their future in our community.
Fortalice is a local charity providing essential services to individuals affected by domestic abuse and violence in Bolton and Bury. They operate multiple refuges, offering safety and new beginnings for many. Our contributions can help sustain and expand the invaluable support they provide.
We have planned a series of fundraising events running up to October, including bake sales, car boot sales, and silent auctions, where AOers can get involved across all sites.
Please participate and contribute in any way you can. We'll keep you updated on our events and the money raised.

⭐🍰STAR - Comfy Clothes Day 23/08/2024🍬⭐
As you may have seen from the posters around the building. This Friday the STARS will be hosting a comfy clothes day to raise money for our chosen charities Fortalice and Be The Change. That means get your favourite PJs, loungewear, joggers, slippers out and get cozy for the day (we have even had people mention their oodies!) There will be a £1 donation for this. We will also be having some fun activities that will be listed below. Sweet Guess Jackpot 🍭 One of our STARS will be going round each floor with a tub of sweets and you can pay a £1 to have a chance of guessing the amount and taking them home with you, if you guess correctly! (if multiple people guess right those names will be drawn from a hat to decide the winner Bake sale 🍪 We love our treats at AO so thought we would organise a Friday treat ready for the bank holiday weekend with some delicious bakes. 🍰 We will be selling a range of different items from cookies to brownies for all to enjoy. We will be in the park from 11:30am till 2:30pm so come and visit us! Megan Bennett is also doing a sponsored silence on this day as well (this will be a challenge for our meg if you know you know 😄) if anyone would like to reach out to her and give your support / donate would be much appreciated.
