SHINE GAMES
As we enter a Summer of sporting action, Bunzl Catering Supplies are launching the ‘SHINE Games’. This inaugural event will raise much-needed funds for our chosen charities, Nia Children’s Foundation, Mind, and Cancer Research UK. In an intrepid effort to raise our donation target of £12,000, from 24 June to 5 July, over 500 employees will take part in a plethora of sporting activities, including a walking/running challenge to hit 620 miles, badminton, and basketball, alongside some respite ventures like cake-baking, to restore the calories!
By sponsoring our sporting activities, you will be supporting three charities, chosen because they have a direct link to one or more of our colleagues. These are; Nia Children’s Foundation, a charity providing food supplies to schools in Africa’s poorest slums, MIND, supporting people to ensure no one has to face a mental health problem alone, and Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading independent cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information. These charities will benefit equally from the funds raised.
We believe that together we can make a significant difference. Please dig deep and donate where you can, any contribution will be received with huge appreciation. And, if you are a UK taxpayer, please do not forget to Gift Aid.*
Our SHINE values were launched in 2023 to reflect our values and positively influence how we work together. The ‘SHINE Games’ illustrate our determination to engage with our people, customers, and suppliers to support local communities and charitable organisations. I hope that together we can smash our donation target to deliver life-changing funds to our three very worthy charities.
*The government operates a scheme called Gift Aid that allows charities to claim the basic rate tax on every pound donated. If you are a UK taxpayer you can Gift Aid your donations, making them worth 25% more to the charity at no extra cost to you.
