The Dragon 100

The Dragon 100

Allan Howling

After losing both my brother, Troy at Christmas and my colleague Mark earlier this year to cancer, I wanted to raise money for charity and the obvious option to do so is to run a really long way!

I have signed up for the Dragon 100 which is 100miles from Rossilli Bay to Cardiff, spending the majority of the time on the South Wales Coastal Path.

My running club, Sphinx AC has chosen Acorns Children's Hospice as our charity partner this year, so 20% of all money raised will be passed to them with the remaining 80% split equally between Mark's chosen charity of Brain Tumour Research and Cancer Research UK.

While I have run ultra marathons before 50miles is the furthest I have ever run in one go, taking Just under 10hours. This is a whole new experience and while the cut off for the Dragon 100 is 34 hours, I will be aiming to complete in a time nearer to 24 hours.
