Basingstoke 10k 2022
Nomios UK&I employees will be running the Basingstoke 10K on October 2nd in support of a number of charities.
Team members have nominated causes for fantastic reasons. Donations will be split equally between the following:
MND Association
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a degenerative muscle disease affecting brain and spinal cord nerves.
MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any time, and there is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MD across a lifetime. There is currently no cure for MND.
Sadly, Sam lost his grandmother to MND, and would like to fundraise for the MND Association. This charity is dedicated to aiding the progress in finding a cure for MND through drug discovery and development projects, facilitating research to uncover the causes of MND, and helping those who are currently living with MND.
Michael Sobell Hospice
We were very sorry to hear when John lost his Mum after a long battle with cancer. Sandra was moved to a hospice called Sobell House, and although each day was difficult, they gave her alleviation from her symptoms and somewhere to rest and be looked after.
Sandra told John how great the staff were at Sobell House. She celebrated her final birthday there, and the team gave her lots of vases for the flowers she had received. When Sandra passed, they were helpful and respectful to the family.
Therefore, John and Sianna would like to raise money for Sobell House to help others who are going through palliative care and require specialist support.
Maple Ridge School
Following the summer volunteering project Nomios undertook at Maple Ridge School, we would like to continue our partnership supporting the local school.
As this school specialises in children with SEN (special education needs), particularly autism, the money raised may go towards their sensory garden, sports fields, or classrooms. These activities will help young children get the education and activities they deserve.
Nomios have also agreed to match the total donations raised once the target has been reached.
