National Three Peaks Challenge 2024
2496
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
On May 11th, we will be attempting to climb the UK’s highest peaks in just 24 hours…!
As a team of eight, our ambition is to raise £150k to split evenly across three very important charities; Action for M.E., LTSB and the West Ham United Foundation.
The Story: My name is Joe Lyons and I am the CEO of the West Ham United Foundation. Throughout the past 10 years, I have seen the amazing growth of the Foundation, and also LTSB – both doing incredible work linked to many social issues. Despite our unwavering efforts and achievements to date, we are acutely aware of the work that still needs to be done.
Unfortunately during this time, my wife Kate was diagnosed with M.E. eight years ago, which has dramatically impacted her health and our wider family conditions with three young boys at home. The lack of information and resource put into this condition is staggeringly low – this needs to change!
A long time ago I decided that I would endeavour to take on a challenge to raise vital funds for Action for M.E., but within this time I met with my good friend and LTSB Trustee, Darren Gurner, and recognised what a good opportunity this could be to create an initiative that transcends boardrooms; uniting influential business leaders to scale the biggest UK peaks.
We decided that we would do the Three Peaks, raising money for the three charities and have called upon a team of incredible friends, fellow business leaders and ambassadors to take on this mighty challenge, together. Each person will be representing one of the three charities, but ultimately we’re doing this as a team.
None of us have ever taken this on before and it’s safe to say we are daunted at the prospect of what lies ahead (particularly now the grueling training has started!), but feel motivated by knowing what a difference we could make to the three causes through raising these vital funds.
We would be extremely grateful for any donations and appreciate your support.
Thank you,Joe
