In July, my friend and colleague Lavinia and I are taking on the challenge of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro.
We will be doing the challenge with two very dear colleagues in mind who are currently going through cancer treatment. We hope to raise money for charities chosen specifically by Lee and Nick. The two charities are the Brain Tumour Charity and Hayley's Heros (which is a bowel cancer charity).
Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro is a massive challenge for many reasons. Spending 7 days and nights on a mountain, sleeping rough, without access to makeup, hairdryer and washing facilities is going to be a struggle for both of us. Everyday we will be hiking for around 6 hours as we gradually climb nearly 6,000 metres. The hardest part of the trek is coping with the high altitude which can make the climb very tough - especially on summit night.
All money raised will go directly to the two charities. We are very grateful for your support.
