Fundraise with Runners for Justice in Palestine Boston!
22023
For the past two years, Runners for Justice in Palestine (RJP) has been the largest team of runners at the Cambridge Half Marathon. In both 2024 and 2025, more than 125 runners joined our team, and together we contributed approximately $10,000 in race fees and support.
RJP is a community of movers united in support of Palestinian self-determination, justice, and liberation – and justice and liberation for oppressed people everywhere. We are proud to be rooted in Cambridge and to run its streets together every Sunday.
This year, the Cambridge Half Marathon rejected the Palestinian charities we proposed for our team.
According to the race organizers, eligible charities must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits, be non-political, be located in and serve Massachusetts residents, and align with promoting healthy lifestyles. We proposed three organizations that met these stated criteria and were connected to Palestine, but all three were rejected.
This decision raises an important question: Why should organizations supporting Palestinian communities be treated differently?
Movement is political. In May 2026, Palestinian amputee runners – wounded by Israeli attacks participated in a 2km race along the coastal road near Nuseirat, Gaza, as part of the Palestine Marathon. In the West Bank, the United Nations has documented more than 500 obstacles, including checkpoints, roadblocks, and earth mounds—that restrict Palestinian movement between communities.
Movement is a right. Movement is community. Movement is solidarity.
Because the Cambridge Half Marathon rejected the charities chosen by our runners, RJP will not be participating in the race this year.
Instead, we are turning our $10,000 race budget into a fundraiser.
Help us raise $10,000 for three Palestinian organizations.
We are raising $10,000—the amount we would have spent participating in the Cambridge Half Marathon—to support the three organizations our runners selected.
Your donation helps us turn this rejection into an opportunity to show up for Palestinian communities and organizations doing vital work.
You can support RJP in two ways:
🏃 Join us every Sunday at 10 AM at 575 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, as we run and move together for justice.
❤️ Donate to our fundraiser and help us reach our $10,000 goal.
We may not be running the Cambridge Half Marathon this year—but we are still running for justice.
