**UPDATE 29/3/24**
Due to the relentless rain and unsettled weather for the week ahead, this event will be postponed until 20th/21st April. This has not been an easy decision, however we all think it is for the best.
Arlingham locals Dave Davies, Chris Shield, Dave Merrett and Nick Ineson are hoping to turn acres in to pounds for two important causes close to their hearts.
Dave Davies and fellow ploughman Ant Rymer have set themselves the challenge of ploughing continuously for 24 hours using their vintage tractors and two furrow ploughs. Their friend Dallas Andrews will be joining them to plough through the night.
These three ploughmen will be supported throughout the challenge by twelve of their fellow ploughing enthusiasts to maintain a minimum of three tractors ploughing at all times.
Weather permitting the challenge is taking place in a 48 acre field next to the banks of the River Severn in Arlingham, on the weekend of the 20/21st April, 2024. Should it not be possible to proceed with the challenge on this date then we would hope to go ahead at a later date.
All funds raised are being split equally between Longfield Hospice and The Arlingham Church Trust.
Longfield Hospice based at Minchinhampton provides amazing care for adults living in Gloucestershire with a life-limiting illness and support for their loved ones and carers. The Arlingham Church Trust holds funds that are solely for the purposes of funding the repair and maintenance of Arlingham Church.
