Matt’s Ride Across the USA
19816
I’m cycling across the USA for Two Incredible Causes and in memory of two great friends who tragically lost their lives too early - Alex Coxon & Neil Bowler.
On 20 August 2026, I'll be setting off on my toughest ever challenge - cycling across the United States from Portland Oregon to Portland Maine. I will be riding 6,100km for 43 days across 15 States from the Pacific to the Atlantic. I'm riding because I want to make a difference for two charities that have become deeply personal to me; Royal Trinity Hospice and Cyclists Fighting Cancer.
Royal Trinity Hospice provided incredible and much needed end of life support to my old school friend Alex and his family following his diagnosis of a brain tumor.
Cyclists Fighting Cancer was who my friend and cycling companion Neil was raising money for on a London to Manchester bike ride when he suffered a sudden and catastrophic heart attack.
More information on my ride and why it is so personal to me can be found on my website mattsp2pcycle.com
Information of why funds are so desperately needed by the charities and how it is used can be found via the charity website links below.
Please Support My Ride
There will undoubtedly be many difficult days throughout the challenge, but knowing that every mile is helping raise money for these two remarkable charities will provide all the motivation I need.
If my challenge inspires you, please consider making a donation. All amounts will help make a difference. If you feel you can push the boat out, please consider doing so. Together we can support two remarkable charities that have changed lives and honour the memory of two very special friends.
Thank you for your amazing support.
