Olivia Jade Curtis (Livvy)
7/3/2001 - 5/7/2026
Our beautiful daughter Olivia, known to her friends as Livvy, sadly passed away on 5th July 2026 due to a Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor (sarcoma cancer).
At 2 years old Olivia was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). During her teenage years, she battled through numerous surgeries to remove lots of tumors, eventually being diagnosed with 6 malignant tumors between September 2022 and January 2025.
Then in April 2025, she was diagnosed with an inoperable malignant tumor and was given only weeks to live or the chance to have incredibly toxic chemotherapy to hopefully allow her to make memories. Olivia decided to hopefully make memories 🩷
Over 14 months she battled through some horrendous times and treatments - always smiling, always remaining hopeful, always being there for her friends, always being determined to do better than expected and always being kind, polite and very brave!
Olivia managed to make memories - we managed to get her to Italy for a week....her dream holiday destination! We managed to find Highland Cows in the Peak Distict, we went to the theatre, we wore matching PJs at Christmas, we baked dog treats, we visited Bakewell on her 25th birthday and she met her YouTube heroes Dan & Phil 💜🩷
Sadly Olivia lost her battle on 5th July 2026....leaving all of us, her family, friends and anyone that knew her absolutely devastated. A truly beautiful, kind and caring young woman has been taken from this world far too early 💔
Over the last 4 years, Olivia was hugely supported by Young Lives vs Cancer (especially her social worker & Jack's House at Manchester) and also Teenage Cancer Trust. This is why she wanted us to raise funds for these 2 charities...to say 'thank you'. Olivia was always hopeful for more research to find out why her NF1 behaved so differently to anyone else's...so she wanted us to raise funds for research into NF1 and Sarcoma Cancer - donations in Olivia's name will be directed to the Sarcoma Research Fund at The Christie Charity, The Christie is the hospital where she was treated. Olivia loved ALL animals...that is why she wanted us to raise money for the RSPCA.
Please donate to this fund in Olivia's memory and every time you see something pink that may well be Olivia's way of saying 'thank you' 🩷
Very recently Olivia shared her story with Young Lives vs Cancer...here is the link https://www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk/blog/olivias-story/
