The Quartermasters' English Channel Swim!

During the next 10 days  "The Quartermasters"  Steve, Zac, Tim, Justin and Shep – will take on one of the world's most iconic endurance events: a relay swim across the English Channel from Dover to Calais.

Their challenge begins long before they enter the water. The team has a 10-day weather window, with no guarantee of when – or even if – conditions will be safe enough to attempt the crossing. They'll be on standby, waiting for the call when the tides, winds and sea conditions align.


When that moment comes, they'll set off in the darkness before dawn, facing sea temperatures of less than 15°C, wearing nothing more than their Budgey Smugglers, swim caps and goggles. Battling cold water, powerful tides, busy shipping lanes and unpredictable conditions, success will depend on teamwork, resilience and determination as they work together, one swimmer at a time, towards the shores of France.
