Patagonia Marathon
1646
I'm running a marathon in Chilean Patagonia (Torres del Paine) on 9th September.
I never wanted to run a marathon, but - like the bungee, the skydive and the fugly faux fur coat I nearly dismissed but never regretted - here I am.
I'm massively grateful for any donation, big or small, to these charities that mean a lot to me personally.
==========
Inspired by my sister, Anna, I'm lucky to be able to run in a far away place, on holiday with my Dad for the first time since I was 21 (God help us both).
I'm raising money for two charities whose work I really admire. They give the chances we had, or wish we'd had, to young people whose lives can transform from the help they are given.
The Girls' Network pair underprivileged secondary school girls with working women mentors to give them a better chance of achieving their dreams or overcoming personal obstacles. 2023 will be my 4th year with them (they are taking registrations now if you're a woman, based in Sussex or London).
The Russell Martin Foundation who bring kids close to being expelled back into the fold with education delivered through the football and sport community.
So, here we go! Starting to feel the adrenaline and really not sure how this will turn out, but putting my best in and really appreciate your support :)
