The 22/22 Moonshot Cycle Challenge

In August 2025, I heard the words none of us ever want to hear: ‘You have cancer.’
In my case, it was Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer.
I had never heard of it; in my ignorance, I just thought there was ...... just breast cancer, who knew there were different types!

Even though I had never heard of it, Lobular Breast Cancer, is the second most common form of breast cancer and makes up about 15% of cases.
Due to its unique growth pattern, where it grows in straight lines, or as single cells, Lobular rarely forms lumps, making it hard to detect on scans, especially mammograms.
Despite making up 15% of all breast cancers diagnosed, Lobular is under-studied and rarely recognised as a distinct and different disease.
Often, women are diagnosed at a later stage because of this, and may have had clear mammograms!
I want to support charities to help women like me get the information and support they need, and improve outcomes for everyone who has a Lobular diagnosis.

Those of you who know me will know I have completed several other cycle challenges that you have kindly supported me on, so once again I am asking if you are able to donate; please do, as every donation helps. If you are not able to, then could you please share my page and spread the word about Lobular Breast  Cancer!

So please check yourself, and if you notice anything that isn't normal for you, get it checked out with your GP.
That's how I discovered mine, so thankfully it was caught early at only 12mm and had not spread to my lymph nodes.
Onto the challenge itself, and I must be mad as currently my fitness is nowhere near what it used to be, and treatment has literally zapped me!

I plan to cycle 22 kilometres a day for 22 consecutive days starting on August 1st and finishing on August 22nd.
Why…because in the UK alone, 22 women a day are diagnosed with this disease. By the time I have completed this challenge another 484 women in the UK will have heard those terrifying words.....you have Lobular Breast Cancer!
On the last day of the challenge I will be joined by another 21 cyclists of my family and friends, so 22 of us will cross the finish line 

This ride is personal.
This ride is emotional.
This ride is for all of us..... x

I'm riding for them.
For the women still fighting.
For the women we've lost.
For the women who don't even know yet that this challenge is coming.


All funds raised will be equally split between Lobular Cancer UK and the Lobular Moonshot Project.
