For everyone scanning the QR Code on my kit and folowing along, Updates on the chalenge being posted mostly on insta/facebook @bakerliftsweights.
I’m taking on an extraordinary challenge to raise funds for two causes very close to my heart: Sands and The Fire Fighters Charity. I’ll be attempting the Three Peaks Challenge—climbing the highest peaks of Scotland, England, and Wales—in full fire kit with a breathing apparatus set. Then immediately continuing on down to the south coast, where I’ll embark on a 7.2-mile walk (still in full fire kit and BA), ending at Cattleman's Steakhouse, where I’ll face a 72-ounce steak food challenge.
Every penny will be split evenly between Sands, who support families affected by baby loss, and The Fire Fighters Charity, who assist fire and rescue personnel through health issues, recovery and many other things. About SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity)
SANDS supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth. The charity provides bereavement support through a free helpline, online resources, and local support, and also works with health professionals to improve bereavement care and reduce baby deaths. Crucially, SANDS continues to offer support for as long as families need it—weeks, months or even years after their loss—so no one has to face their grief alone.
About the Firefighters Charity
The Firefighters Charity, provides timely clinical care and wellbeing support to members of the UK’s fire services and their families, helping them to adapt to physical, emotional and social challenges, to adapt to conditions, injuries and illness, and to transition to life after service.
