Thames Path Challenge
On Saturday 9th September, Beth, Jo and Suzie are taking on the Thames Path Challenge, walking a massive and rather daunting 100k continuously all through the day and night.
Why on earth are we doing this? A question we keep asking ourselves... Certainly not because we love blisters, aching legs and no sleep! It's something we've all wanted to do for many years and we have a bit of a habit of signing ourselves up for silly things like this!
But also it's a great opportunity to fundraise for causes that really matter to us and we have chosen Macmillan, Crohn's and Colitis and Sobell House Hospice Charity to raise money through this grueling challenge.
Jo was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis as a teenager, and has been fortunate enough that over that time, her condition has generally been fairly well controlled and she has been able to live a normal life and even do crazy things like this 100km challenge. Unfortunately, many with Crohn’s and Colitis are not so blessed and it has a huge and debilitating impact on their lives, often rendering them housebound. It is for all those that suffer with IBD that we are embarking on this challenge.
We've all seen first hand the devastation of cancer. Macmillan are an amazing source of practical and emotional support to so many people they are a very worthy cause to support.
And finally, Sobell House Hospice is an amazing organisation Beth has the great honour to work at every day. It's a place we all hope we never need to use, yet when we do, we are so very grateful for. A place where the greatest of care is given to those facing a life limiting illness and their loved ones.
Please do give generously and help us achieve our fundraising goal for the wonderful charities we have chosen to support.
Thank you!
