Aviemore 1/2 Marathon
I’ve decided to sign myself up for the Aviemore half marathon on the 7th of October 2023. I am absolutely not a runner and only took it back up in February this year and the furthest distance I have achieved so far is 11km, so this is a big challenge for me. I wanted to push my boundaries and have an aim to train for but I also wanted to do something to raise some money for two incredible charities which hold a lot of meaning for me. My grandad sadly passed away at the start of the year and my Granny has had many heart issues in the past related to the same condition, therefore half of the money raised will be donated to Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland for their amazing work. The second charity receiving the other half of donations is PAPYRUS- Prevention of Young Suicide is another close to my heart after Kirsty Miller a friend and colleague of mine who sadly lost her battle to mental health late last year. Two incredible charities that deserve countless donations, however any donation little or large would be greatly appreciated by me and the charities involved. Wish me luck 🍀
