Hi, my name is Ellis Anderson. I’m just a 25-year-old lad from the North-West. Some of you may know me as a plumber, business owner or gym goer. Some of you may know my face, not my name and some of you may not know me at all. But soon I’m going to be known as the lad who ran the length of the country for two incredible mental health charities, Andy’s Man Club and Young Minds. The challenge spans over 850 miles, meaning I’ll be covering an ultra marathon a day.
Andys man club.I have personally chosen this charity with great reasoning, firstly at a young age I was steeped with depression and needing to take time out of school due to bullying from as young as I can remember, This very sever when I became close to being part of the ones who don't make it. One of the biggest killers in men in the UK sadly the money raised for AMC helps them to grow as a charity helping more men up and down the uk, any donation is appreciated and goes a long way.
YoungmindsYoung minds are a charity which works directly with young people, their families, and professionals. They help support young people who need help with anything mental health related and signpost to other agencies if a young person requires urgent help. They support parents and carers through their parents’ helpline, which offers advice over the phone and online. Young Minds offers training to professionals who interact with young people, last year they offered training to over 10,000 professionals.
These are two charities that are close to my heart and make a real difference for the people they support.
