Walk To Remember
15185
Two Northampton-based charities, NTFC Community Trust and The Lewis Foundation are teaming up this July for a walk to remember those we have lost, to share memories and to join together to raise money for those in need across the county.
NTFC Community Trust works to create a healthy, happy and thriving Northamptonshire through health and wellbeing, education and skills and disability, participation and inclusion programmes.
The Lewis Foundation are dedicated to bringing a little light into the lives of adult cancer patients during their hospital stay. Every week, they carefully source, package, and hand deliver free gifts and support packs filled with items these brave individuals might struggle to obtain or afford.
FAQs
Is parking available? Limited parking is available at Upton Country Park on a first come, first served basis. If you require parking close to the start of the walk for access reasons, please let us know and we will try to accommodate this.
Other parking is available at Sixfields Stadium. The West Stand car park at the stadium will be open and is a 5/10 minute walk from the country park.
How do I register on the day?
Please check in with our welcome team on the day, who will sign you in and give you a free, front of shirt clip on sheet where you can write the name of the person you’re walking in memory of.
If you need to buy a place, or an extra place, on the day, our registration team will be able to help you with this.
How far is the walk?
The walk route is approximately three miles long and will be lined by our friendly marshals, who will direct you along the route. Each marshal will also have questions with them to trigger memories of the people that you’ve chosen to walk for. The walk takes in two loops of the park so, if you would prefer to finish after one loop, that’s also absolutely fine!
Do I need to be a regular walker to join in?
Absolutely not! We welcome people of all abilities and backgrounds to walk with us. The most important thing is to remember our loved ones and there are no expectations on speed or ability. Please come and join us and walk at your own pace.
I am a wheelchair user – is the track accessible?
The course is accessible for wheelchairs. There is one small area of uneven ground that is more challenging with a wheelchair but it is next to a grassy area where you should be able to manoever around. We will have a marshal next to this for anyone that does need a bit of extra support.
Can I bring dogs along?
Of course! Dogs and guide dogs are more than welcome, in line with the Upton Country Park rules.
Can I donate extra money for the charities?
We would really appreciate any and all extra donations to the two charities! You can donate, to help both charities continue their vital work across Northamptonshire at https://www.givewheel.com/fundraising/15185/walk-to-remember/ - all money donated will be split between the two charities.
How can I find out more about the two charities to find out where my donations are going?

You can find out about The Lewis Foundation at https://www.thelewisfoundation.co.uk/
