Sue's charity challenge 2023 - 69x5k - 69 consecutive days
November 14th - successful completion!!! The final 5k of my challenge has been run, 69 consecutive days of 5ks, my knee held up! Thank you to all the folks who gave up their time to run with me, who joined me once or twice and/on many more occasions. I’m so glad you did. Thanks to all the wider support including a lot of conversation. It’ll be strange knowing I don’t have to go out as part of my challenge but … well because I am. Now how to keep that fitness?
October 24th - the weather has most certainly changed, thankfully it’s not been icy yet, but it’s been frosty, very wet and v v windy. I’ve had to locate my gloves, hat, buff. A diversion on the canal was required due to the floods there, and a change of location when the NE coast was just too windy. But a challenge is a challenge and this one is certainly being challenging!
October 10th - am halfway! 2.5k into today’s 5k and on the Brighouse canal, the half way mark! However, that means I’ve still a lot of running to do.
September 6th. Target increased due to the wonderful support so far. Challenge starts tomorrow! A 5k planned with a friend, 8am!
Then
Over 69 consecutive days, (mostly) run 5k, each and every day. Starting in September - my birthday month - so I should finish mid November.
Thank you so much for visiting my sponsorship page and reading my post. Yes, I'm starting my fundraising challenge much later this year. Why? Unexpected cataract operations in March and a wonderful holiday in April were preceded by the challenge from declining sight and it's impact on my fitness. It's only now that I am starting to improve fitness and can envisage the possibility of a running based challenge. It takes so much longer when you get older - and at present, it's a challenge to keep running for one 5k on one day!
But, charities need monies (and I need motivation) so my challenge is on the horizon. I'm using Givewheel as the platform this year - they will distribute sponsorship monies to the charities highlighted and enable the charities then to claim gift aid from yourselves. This is an extra 25% on every eligible donation; a lot of money. It means a bit more form filling but it raises a lot of extra funds.
Please do visit my page again. I'll update as to progress. Thank you in advance from my charities and myself

Friday October 20th
I was in Hartlepool and ready to run along the prom, but the wind was so strong, I couldn’t stand up against it……hence, once home, we ran in the torrential rain instead! Well, I guess, it’s called a challenge!
