The Firelighter Trail Run, Anglesey - 35.7 Miles
1453
The Llandudno Vikings are back! (Some of them anyway...)
This summer, 3 members of the Llandudno Vikings will be taking on The Firelighter trail run in Anglesey. This run will see them following the coast, from Holyhead to Amlwch, for a total of 35.7 miles! The race must be completed in 10 hours for a participant to count as finishing the race. It is speculated that only around 10% of the route will take place on roads, meaning the remaining 90% will see them over rocky, hilly, or sandy terrain.
The members taking part are Sam Midgley-Davies, Murod Samadov, and Piotr Danek. This is Piotr's first time taking part in a Viking event and he's already looking like he'll be leading the pack. That being said, none have experience running anything further than a half marathon so there's a long way to go before they're ready. Plenty of blood, sweat, and tears! Just how we like it!
As with any Llandudno Viking event, we are looking to raise money for a very deserving charity in the process. The charity we will be supporting is Bowel Cancer UK. An incredible organisation that works to save lives fighting one of the most common forms of cancer. We ask that if you can donate, please do. Chances are we all know someone who's been affected by cancer in one way or another, help us make a difference if you can.
