On July 1st 2026 we will begin an ambitious charity challenge, cycling the length of the UK from Land's End to Sumburgh Airport in Shetland. Over 10 days we will cycle more than 1000 miles, travelling from the far south west of the UK to The Shetland Isles.
The ride is being organised in memory of our good friend and colleague Kieran Clark, who we sadly lost in November to prostate cancer at the young age of 38. Kieran was someone many of us worked alongside, shared good times with and his loss has been deeply felt by a huge number of people. As a tribute to Kieran, and his many years working as an air traffic control engineer for NATS, we are cycling from his most southerly site Land's End air navigation beacon to the furthest north which is Sumburgh air navigation beacon in the Shetlands.
Cancer affects almost all of us in some way - whether through friends, family or colleagues. That's why we're using this challenge to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK. Helping fund research, treatment and support for those currently facing the disease and in the future.
Every mile we ride will be in memory of Kieran and in support of everyone affected by similar circumstances.
Join the ride - We've chosen the givewheel charity platform as, unlike other sites, 100% of donations go to the charities including gift aid. It also allows anyone to take part and link their own fundraising efforts to a common goal.
You don't need to ride the full route but you can:
Join us for a full stage
Ride part of a stage
Cycle a distance that suits you locally
Support the effort through donations and sharing the event
Whether it's 10 miles, 50 miles or 110 miles, every contribution counts and helps raise awareness and funds for cancer charities.
Together we hope to turn a challenging ride into something positive and fun - honouring Kieran's memory while helping others who are facing cancer today.
