Cross channel swim

Having swum the English Channel as part of a team in 2023, it inspired me to keep swimming and attempt a solo cross channel swim. As a serving Army Reservist I’m raising money for the ABF and Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire Fund, which supports cadets and reservists in Gloucestershire and Bristol.

The picture is me mid-channel crossing one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes. It was a great day for a swim!

Update Sunday 5 July: I’ve finally fully recovered from the swim but it took a full 10 days to get over it. Sun burn and jelly fish stings have all healed!  I enjoyed being back in the water over the weekend at the epic The Lake enjoying the 22’ clear blue waters of my quarry training base. Lovely to be back and a very chilled swim.

Focus is the fundraising and I’ll be launching my Cross Channel Challenge for cadet and reserve units (teams of 6 covering 30miles by walking, running, rowing or cycling as a team). Who can beat my time to get across the Channel?

If you have any ideas or would like me to come and speak to your organisation, in return for a donation, drop me a line at [email protected]
