In April, I will be taking on the London Marathon in memory of our beautiful friend Chloe, who we sadly lost in October 2024.
Chloe's loss has changed the world as we know it. Seeing the strength of our family and friends in the face of such a tragedy has inspired me to do something positive; something that honours Chloe's life and helps makes a difference to others. Chloe was a shining light who left a trail of magical memories and a legacy of love. Every mile I run will be for Chloe and everyone who loved her, especially her beautiful daughter; Edie.
With that in mind, I am raising money for two charities that mean so much to us all:
The Dodford Children's Farm is a small, local charity in Worcestershire that provides holidays and short breaks for children up to 9 years of age, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or with additional needs. Their work gives children a chance to enjoy new experiences in the countryside that they may never otherwise have.
The farm also has a dedicated area called Chloe's Corner, created in her memory. It is home to small animals including rabbits and guinea pigs, some of Chloe's favourites, and it's a place where children can spend time with them. The farm is run entirely on voluntary donations. So, supporting them helps keep this special place thriving and brings joy to the children who visit, something which Chloe would have cherished.
My second charity, Blood Cancer UK is a national charity dedicated to beating blood cancer. They fund vital research and provide support for those affected. Since 1960, they have invested over £500 million into research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Their mission is to cure this cruel disease and prevent other families from experiencing its devastating effects.
Chloe was someone who always gave her time, kindness and love to others. Supporting these charities is a way to carry forward her spirit; by helping children experience joy through the magic of animals whilst also backing lifesaving research.
Every step I take on marathon day will be for you Chloe, you are so loved and you are so missed.
Please support me by donating whatever you can. Whether large or small, every contribution makes a difference and helps ensure that Chloe's memory continues to bring light to others.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your support.
