For those who don’t know me, my name is Robert Nunn. You can check out the progress on this series of challenges here : https://ddd.viegli.com.
In 2026, I’m taking on a series of challenges not for recognition, but to celebrate an enormous personal milestone, a significant and hard-earned weight-loss journey, while raising funds for Focus Foundation and Help for Heroes.
These challenges are about doing something meaningful, pushing beyond fear, and turning personal change into positive impact for others.
Why this matters to meFor a long time, my life revolved almost entirely around work. To many people, I was the “hard-working fat chap”, reliable, driven, but far removed from the young man I once was.
That younger version of me was fit, fast and fearless. Somewhere along the way, that disappeared. I stopped prioritising my health, developed phobias (particularly a fear of heights), and accepted a version of myself that I knew wasn’t right.
In 2025, I decided enough was enough.
I began a serious weight-loss journey and made a commitment to myself that 2026 wouldn’t just be about maintaining progress, it would be about doing something bold, uncomfortable, and purposeful.
That’s where these challenges, and Focus Foundation, come in.
The challenges1️⃣ Zip Line at Penrhyn Quarry | 28th February 2026.
I’ll be taking on the fastest zip line in the world at Penrhyn Quarry, over 500ft in the air.
As someone genuinely scared of heights, this is about confronting fear head-on - and preparing myself for what’s still to come later in the year.
2️⃣ Abseiling off the Brighton i360 | 27th June 2026.
Next, I’ll abseil from the top of the iconic Brighton i360 - 450ft above ground!?
I’m inviting fellow business leaders to join me for this challenge - an unforgettable experience in support of two incredible causes.
3️⃣ The ultimate goal: a six-minute mile | September 2026
In June 2025, at 23½ stone, running a six-minute mile wouldn’t have crossed my mind. At a colleague’s funeral later that year, I was told bluntly that, at 54, it was impossible.
My response? Watch me.
I’ll be sharing the training journey openly, and putting real stakes behind the ambition:
If I don’t achieve the six-minute mile, I will personally match every donation, penny for penny.
For well over a decade now I've put work first and "me" firmly second. The fit, healthy and energetic me seemed to have disappeared for ever. That had to change. The last six months of 2025 were firmly focused on losing weight. In 2026 I'll focus on doing something good and bringing that fit, healthy and energetic young man out of retirement. Join me on this journey and help me raise funds for two amazing charities along the way." - Robert Nunn
Where Your Sponsorship GoesEvery penny raised will support two charities making real, lasting change:
💙 Focus Foundation:
Connecting communities and supporting grassroots charities across the UK to remove barriers and change lives.
“They are an amazing organisation and I am proud to be supporting them in 2026.”
🏅 Help for Heroes
Supporting veterans and their families as they rebuild life after service, from recovery and employment to housing and long-term wellbeing.
“I’ve always been in awe of people that take it on themselves to serve… I am proud to be supporting Help for Heroes in 2026.”
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting this journey - whether through a donation, sharing this page, or simply cheering from the side lines.
Let’s see what happens when determination is given nowhere to hide!
