Hi! We are Grannies on Waves, a team of determined (and slightly stubborn) Dutch women with one big dream: Row across the Atlantic Ocean.

Yes… the Atlantic Ocean in a tiny rowing boat. Powered by grit, teamwork and a lot of humour.

And as far as we know, we may be the first team of grandmothers ever to take on this challenge.

Why are we doing this?
Because we feel incredibly grateful. Grateful that our children and grandchildren are healthy. Grateful that we get to enjoy everyday life without fear. And we know not every family is that lucky. That’s why we’re rowing for the Prinses Máxima Center for pediatric oncology, because every child deserves the chance to grow up and every family deserves hope.

The Prinses Máxima Center treats children with cancer with one goal: to cure every child with cancer. Children who dream of a future. Worldwide. That is why the Prinses Máxima Center collaborates with international partners and centers. If you want to cure more children with cancer, in the Netherlands and around the world, you have to do it together. Globally.

We want to raise as much money as possible for the Prinses Máxima Center. This is only possible if we do it together.
