The EIDG are running a Big Prize Raffle to raise money in aid of a very special cause - Action on Asbestos.
In May 2025, one of our EIDG members, Craig Morrison, was very sadly diagnosed with mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is an incurable cancer that affects the lining of the lung and is almost always associated with exposure to asbestos. When Craig received his diagnosis he was allocated a dedicated mesothelioma nurse who has provided, and will continue to provide, invaluable medical, emotional and practical support to Craig. Although his nurse works within the NHS, her role is funded by Action on Asbestos. Action on Asbestos provide their services free of charge to anyone in Scotland diagnosed with an asbestos related disease in order to support the individual and their family but they are entirely reliant on donations to continue their fantastic work. With your support, the EIDG want to help raise as much money as possible for this very special cause.
Raffle tickets cost only £10 for a strip of 5 tickets. Please consider buying generously - the more tickets, the more chances of winning, and more importantly the money we raise for charity. (Ticket sales will close on 8pm on Thursday 12 February.)
Prizes include: - A guaranteed table of 10 for next year's always sold out EIDG Quiz; - An iPad; - An overnight stay at The Place Hotel in Edinburgh in one of their suites, including breakfast; - A round of golf for two or a spa session for two at Gleneagles;- Tickets to a Ghillie Dhu Burly Ceilidh Club event, including a three course dinner; - Omega x Swatch MoonSwatches; - Tickets for a Johnnie Walker Whisky & Chocolate Experience; - A Sheraton One Spa 'Escape to the Coast' spa day experience;- Director's box tickets for Hearts, Partick Thistle, and Dumbarton games; - Signed rugby tops;- A bottle of Ardbeg Ultimate Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky;- Vouchers for Slater Menswear, The Raeburn, Valvona and Crolla, and Edinburgh Zoo;- And other fantastic prizes.
