5 days, 5 consecutive Ironman distance triathlons! 13th -17th April

With 2026 looming I felt it was about time I set myself a silly charity endurance challenge! In April I plan to complete 5 Ironman distances triathlons in just 5 days!
For those who don’t know, the distance on an Ironman is 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run! This will be the biggest endurance challenge I have undertaken so far!
I have decided to do this to raise money for three amazing charities..

The first is We Hear You (WHY), they offer compassionate counselling and emotional support to adults, children and families affected by cancer and other life-threatening conditions. With a dedicated team based in Frome, they provide a safe space for patients, families, friends, and carers to share their experiences and feelings.
Their counselling and other services extend across Somerset, Bath, North East Somerset, and Wiltshire, ensuring that no one faces these challenges alone.
Why have helped a number of people I know dealing with terminal cancer diagnosis, they have said that the support from Why was invaluable.

The second is Big Moose, a mental health charity that provides free, fast and effective therapy for people who are struggling.
Their goals are to:
1. Help people with their mental health
2. Prevent suicide
3. Reduce homelessness
Their strategy for achieving these goals is by providing therapy to people who need it. in wales there is a 36 week waiting list to get mental health therapy. with bigmoose you are seen within a week.
these long waiting lists are huge contributing factors to why we are seeing a rise in suicide rates. people need help, and they need it quickly.
Mental health awareness is something very close to my heart. I have and still struggle with my own mental health and feel charities like this are so important!
Unfortunately I know far too many people who have lost young male family members to suicide and the work that Big moose do to try and prevent this is so crucial.

The third is Morgan’s Army, Founded by Natalie and Matthew Ridler after their son Morgan’s cancer diagnosis, the Morgan’s Army Charitable Foundation supports South Wales families affected by childhood cancer. Morgan passed away in June 2023, but his legacy endures through our commitment that NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE.
