Movember 300

I am going to row 10K every day for the 30 days in November 2025 on a Concept 2 rowing machine; I’m calling it ‘Movember 300’ I’m also going to grow a moustache! I’ve never tried that before. I’m 72 and I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2019 and this is a way for me to give back something for the care I have been given here in Northern Ireland through HSCNI by contributing to the Prostate Cancer UK charity. And raise awareness of men’s health issues during the ‘Movember’ month of focus.
My best friend Dave Coffey died from Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2023 and I am sharing all donations equally with Pulmonary Fibrosis NI; again this is to fund and give support to patients, their families and carers to improve the quality of life of sufferers of IPF.
Both these causes and charities are very meaningful to me.
I’m fit and healthy for my age and I am a member of Dundrum Coastal Rowing Club, we row regularly all year round and I use a Concept 2 rowing machine regularly at home.
The funds I raise will be split equally between both charities and I unashamedly ask you to contribute as much as you can.
I’ll post regularly on Facebook and Instagram with updates on the challenge.
Please be generous.
10K rowing each day will take about 50 minutes to complete and hopefully reach the 300K mark on 30th November.
