On Sunday 19th October I will be taking part (attempting to take part) in the Yorkshire Marathon, raising funds for two charities very close to my heart; MND Association and Leeds Rhinos Foundation, who this year celebrates its 20th anniversary.
This is my first ever marathon, inspired by two of the most incredible people, Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield, who I was fortunate enough to work alongside for a number of years. I am taking myself out of my comfort zone to tread the 26+ miles around York.
I started my marathon journey nearly 2 years ago as somewhat a non runner with a goal of running a half marathon in year 1 and a full marathon in year 2. Whilst I am still a very unnatural runner, I am determined to get across the finish line in memory of Rob and others suffering this cruel lifechanging disease.
Whilst I appreciate times are challenging, any donation would be very much appreciated.
