Brain tumours are indiscriminate; they can affect anyone at any age. What’s more, they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer...yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

To increase the UK investment in brain tumour research.

We are the only national charity in the UK focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours through campaigning to increase the national investment in brain tumour research to £35 million per year, while fundraising to create a network of seven sustainable Brain Tumour Research Centres of Excellence across the UK.

A sustainable stream of steady funds gives us the confidence to invest in long-term research at our dedicated Research Centres, helping to cover the costs of our scientists and clinicians, as well as supporting our ongoing campaigning activities.

Could pay for a month of microplates, which are everyday lab dishes that are essential for researchers exploring the effects of new drugs on brain tumour cells.

Could fund a PhD student for a morning to carry out discovery research in one of our Centres of Excellence, helping to accelerate the journey to discoveries that could lead to new clinical trials and treatments.

Could pay for an hour of a Senior Research Fellow’s day running a Brain Tumour Research lab, developing and co-ordinating vital research projects from a team of PhD students.
