In Loving Memory of Aaliyah Godfrey: Shaving My Head for Sarcoma UK and The Little Princess Trust
15263
Aaliyah Godfrey was the most loving, thoughtful and creative person I have ever known. She brought so much light into the lives of everyone around her, with her sunshine smile and positive outlook; I feel incredibly lucky to have called her my best friend.
We were devastated when, in July 2024, Aaliyah passed away from Ewing’s Sarcoma, an exceptionally rare and aggressive type of cancer that primarily affects children and young people. Not a day goes by where she isn’t missed by everyone who knew her.
I want to honour Aaliyah and make a difference in her name. That’s why in early July 2026, during Sarcoma Awareness Month, I will be shaving my head and donating my hair. I am raising money for two incredible charities: Sarcoma UK and The Little Princess Trust.
Half of the donations will go to the Sarcoma UK charity, helping to fund vital research into sarcoma and support those affected by this devastating disease, in the hope that one day, fewer families have to go through this loss.
The remaining half will go to The Little Princess Trust, alongside my hair donation. This charity provides natural hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy. I have seen first hand how much this helped Aaliyah to regain her confidence, and a sense of normality during an incredibly difficult time.
This fundraiser is deeply personal to me, and I’m doing it with Aaliyah in my heart as a first step on Aaliyah’s Path, an art donation platform in her name that will open towards the end of 2026.
Any donation would mean so much and will help make a real difference. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
