Every Mile For Dementia & Blood Cancer
11946
This year, I’ll be running the Manchester Half Marathon & further fundraising events to raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society and Blood Cancer UK — two charities that are incredibly close to my heart.
My Grandma was diagnosed with vascular dementia, and until it touched my own family, I never truly understood how devastating dementia can be — not only for the person living with it, but for the entire family. Watching someone you love change, while still being physically present, is something no family is ever prepared for.
My Dad was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. This diagnosis brought a whole new meaning to fear, strength, and hope, and showed me just how vital research, support, and early treatment really are.
By taking on this half marathon, I want to raise awareness and essential funds to support:
• Alzheimer’s Society, who provide crucial support to people living with dementia, their families, and fund life-changing research towards a future without dementia.
• Blood Cancer UK, who fund research into better treatments, kinder therapies, and ultimately cures for blood cancers towards a future without blood cancer.
No fundraiser is meant to be easy, but it's nothing compared to what families facing dementia & blood cancer go through every day.
Every donation — big or small — helps fund research, care, and hope for families affected by these conditions. Your support will mean the world to me and to the countless people whose lives are touched by dementia and blood cancer every day.
Thank you💙
